The Albion Park Rail Bypass delivered the missing link in the Princes Motorway between Sydney and Bomaderry — a 9.8-kilometre, four-lane divided highway extending the M1 between Yallah and Oak Flats. The bypass replaced a congested corridor carrying freight, tourist and local traffic through six sets of traffic lights and 16 intersections, reducing northbound peak travel times by up to 65%. The project included three interchanges at Yallah, Albion Park and Oak Flats, 13 new bridges, and local road upgrades to Tongarra Road and Yallah Road. Delivered as a design-and-construct contract by Fulton Hogan, the bypass opened to traffic in mid-2021.

RCS Scope

Road & Civil Surveys provided embedded survey support across the civil construction program, with 3–4 surveyors deployed across multiple work fronts. Scope included earthworks set-out and as-built surveys, pavement and road set-out, drainage and utilities infrastructure, and interchange construction works at Yallah, Albion Park and Oak Flats. RCS established and maintained the project control network, provided data calculations and EOM reporting, and delivered structural monitoring services. Night shift and weekend work supported live traffic interfaces and program-critical activities along the existing Princes Highway corridor.
