project information

Overview

Road & Civil Surveys provided construction survey support for Stage 2 of the Penshurst Park Sporting Hub, a $14.3 million community sports and recreation precinct delivered for Georges River Council in Sydney’s south.

The Stage 2 works transformed the existing reserve on Cambridge Street into a regional centre for sporting excellence, delivering a 275-seat grandstand with an architecturally complex curved cantilever roof, a multi-purpose synthetic sports field for soccer, rugby league and cricket with a hydraulic cricket wicket, a youth centre with multi-sports courts and commercial training kitchen, gender-neutral and accessible change rooms, and 53 car parking spaces. The project received $1 million in Federal Government Community Development Grant funding, with the balance funded through developer contributions and council funds.

Road & Civil Surveys provided construction set-out for key structural and civil elements across the site, including the grandstand structure where the curved roof geometry required precise spatial control throughout the build sequence. Progressive as-built surveys verified constructed elements against the design at key hold points, and 3D laser scanning captured detailed spatial records of the completed facility for design verification and asset documentation.
