Registered Surveyor

RCS is a specialist surveying and civil infrastructure consultancy with over 10 years of operations, delivering construction surveying, 3D laser scanning, and UAV/drone services across major road, rail, and civil projects in NSW, ACT, and QLD.

We’re looking for a NSW Registered Surveyor based out of our Gregory Hills office to strengthen our professional capability across construction and cadastral work.

The Role

  • Professional sign-off on survey deliverables including set-out, conformance, and WAE plans
  • Cadastral and boundary surveys — identification surveys, boundary determinations, and plan preparation in accordance with Surveyor General’s Directions
  • Prepare and lodge deposited plans, strata plans, and community plans
  • Mix of field delivery and office-based QA and technical oversight
  • Mentor survey staff working toward registration
  • Technical input into tenders and fee proposals

Essential

  • Registered Surveyor — NSW (BOSSI)
  • Construction/engineering and cadastral survey experience
  • Working knowledge of Surveyor General’s Directions and NSW survey legislation
  • Experience preparing and lodging plans with NSW LRS
  • 12d AutoCAD or similar survey software
  • Trimble and/or Leica GNSS and total stations
  • Current driver’s license and White Card

Desirable

  • Experience mentoring candidate surveyors through the BOSSI registration pathway

Registered Cadastral Surveyor

We’re looking for a Registered Cadastral Surveyor based out of our Bowen Hills office to strengthen our professional capability across construction and cadastral work.

The Role

  • Deliver survey projects across road, rail, and civil infrastructure in QLD
  • Professional sign-off on survey deliverables including set-out, conformance, and WAE plans
  • Cadastral surveys — boundary determinations, identification surveys, and plan preparation in accordance with QLD survey legislation
  • Prepare and lodge survey plans with the QLD Titles Registry
  • Mix of field delivery and office-based QA and technical oversight
  • Mentor survey staff working toward cadastral endorsement
  • Support growth of RCS’s QLD project pipeline and client relationships

Essential

  • Registered with the Surveyors Board of Queensland with Cadastral Endorsement
  • Working knowledge of the Surveyors Act 2003 (QLD) and relevant survey standards and directions
  • Experience preparing and lodging survey plans in QLD
  • Experience with TMR (Transport and Main Roads) survey specifications
  • 12d AutoCAD or similar survey software
  • Current driver’s license and White Card

  • Experience mentoring candidate surveyors toward cadastral endorsement

Subsurface Utility Investigation (SUI) Manager

RCS is a surveying and civil infrastructure consultancy working with contractors on major road, rail, and civil projects across NSW, ACT, and QLD.

We’re building a dedicated SUI division and we need someone to lead it from the ground up. This is a founding role in the business.

The Role

  • Build and lead the RCS Subsurface Utility Investigation division
  • Deliver EM locating, GPR, and sonde tracing services on active infrastructure sites
  • Produce SUI deliverables, integrated with our existing 12d Synergy & drafting workflows
  • Lead NULCA company accreditation for RCS
  • Price and bid SUI scopes — standalone and as part of integrated survey + SUI packages
  • Recruit and grow a 2–3 person SUI team as workload builds
  • Manage equipment procurement and calibration (EM, GPR, sonde)

Essential

  • 5+ years in subsurface utility investigation on civil, road, or rail projects
  • CertLoc certification or equivalent demonstrated competency
  • EM locating, GPR, and sonde tracing experience
  • Working knowledge of AS 5488:2022 and AS 1345 colour coding standards
  • Understanding of NULCA company accreditation requirements
  • DBYD compliance knowledge
  • CAD literacy (12d and/or AutoCAD)
  • White Card, current driver’s licence, National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable

  • Experience pricing and winning SUI scopes
  • Strong existing client relationships
  • Concrete scanning experience
  • Experience building a team or service line

What You’ll Need

  • White Card and Driver’s License
  • Diploma or Degree in Surveying or Spatial Science
  • 2+ years’ engineering project experience
    Strong communication and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Leica or Trimble instruments and 12d / 12d Field
  • References that reflect your technical capability and professionalism

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • RPL License or UAV experience
  • LiDAR / Scanning or BIM exposure
  • Familiarity with Cyclone 3DR, Autodesk Revit, or Rail corridor work
